ABOUT SWAMI VIVEKANANDA CENTENARY SCHOOL SINCE 2012

Swami Vivekananda Centenary School was founded by Late. Revd.Swami Nittyananda Maharaj General Secretary, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission, Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas on 12th January in the year 2012 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and named the school after Swamiji. The first brick of foundation of the school was laid and we started our journey with only 13 students at Pre-Primary level. Since then we are following the footprints and ideologies of Vivekananda through education. Swamiji teaching inspires the youths of today to realize their potential & develop personality and leadership qualities. Thereafter, on 30th January, 2012 on the birth anniversary of Late. Revd. Swami Nittyananda Maharaj, the school was inaugurated by Revd. Swami Nittyarupananda Maharaj. To create a holistic ambience of teaching learning in the school, we are moving ahead with a mission to establish VIVEKANANDA MATH. We have Revd. Swami Sattyadharmananda, Secretary Balurghat, Ramakrishna Mission and Revd. Swami Nittyarupananda, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission, Barrackpore as our patrons in this continuous journey of imparting education to enlighten hearts with the light of knowledge

Our school in its long journey of 11years from its inception in the year 2012 till date has seen a lot of developments taking place related to its infrastructure,education,school management,students growth and progress etc

Our school follows the ideals and principles of Swami Vivekananda and tries to imbibe them in all our children for uplifting their moral values and to develop into a responsible citizen of the country. Swami Vivekananda Centenary School is now affiliated to CISCE,New Delhi and following ICSE curriculum.Our school code is WB451.As our school is a developing and progressive one so we have chosen ICSE board which is one of the most premier and advanced examination board of India where the students not only excel in their Academics but also in different Extracurricular Activities.The integrated course content and choice of different subjects makes the board very much flexible for the students to go with the flow.

Our school curriculum is also very much child centric and flexible.Students not only engage themselves in their regular study sessions but also gives equal emphasis in different Extracurricular Activities such as Art and Craft,Sports and Games, Music,Dance,Recitation, Quizzing,Drama etc. School is well equipped with modern and innovative science laboratories and computer lab for making the students have hands on learning experience and practical approach with their subjects and course content. Language Club is there to provide the students ample opportunity to learn the importance of different languages and culture of our country.

Our school provides the children with a big playground for different kinds of outdoor games and a big hall for different kinds of indoor games.A state of art library furnished with variety of books is there for the children to help them in their developmental aspects. Our teachers and other staff are well qualified in their respective fields to bring a well groomed and updated learning for the children.

Inspiration

Swami Vivekananda Centenary School, founded on January 12, 2012, started with 13 students to honor Swami Vivekananda. Now ICSE-affiliated, it promotes holistic education, blending academics and extracurriculars while fostering moral values and leadership in Chakdaha.

CURRICULUM

The school particular class, the medium of instruction and communication is English. However Bengali/Hindi is a compulsory vernacular as second language. Learning of a third language distinct from second language is compulsory for students from classes V to VIII. Pupils are being trained and prepared for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE). The academic session is from April to March.
We are looking forward to integrate the equitable and inclusive features of the National Education Policy (NEP)- 2020 for all the learners to provide them highest quality education which will develop knowledge, skills, values and dispositions to be a responsible global citizen. We encourage both teachers and students to embrace the use and advantage of the technology so that they can access and use resources on government e- material platforms. The school follows all advisories which are sent by CISCE from time to time.

The school is located amidst lush green fields, providing a pollution-free and holistic ambiance. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled and secure under CCTV surveillance, with a lady attendant assigned in front of the washrooms for student safety.

The mission of Swami Vivekananda Centenary School is not to prepare a man to succeed in life and society, but to increase his perfectibility to its most. As a teacher, I firmly believe that word "touch of love is the key word or USP for all round development of the student".
Swami Vivekananda has said "Education is the manifestation of perfection already in man". So the teachers must lit up the inner qualities already present in the developing beings and make it blossom. The students are like the petals and the teachers can fulfill their soul by the fragrance of the blooms.
The benchmark of an excellent Institution depends on some criteria which are, honesty, punctuality, free environment, healthy sanitation system, cleanliness etc. Within this short period this school trying its best to achieve that level. I wish it all-round development and success.

I extend my warm welcome to all the members of the school community and congratulate them for the excellent performance of our students in all fields. Our children are our future that will lead to a healthy and prospering society. It is the belief that each student in each classroom should be healthy, safe, cared, supported, challenged and motivated.
Our goal is to stimulate the production of ideas and the development of creative thought. Children are given adequate exposure to broaden their knowledge and develop their imagination, allowing them to flourish in all areas. Our school strives to provide the finest possible learning environment in order to achieve greatness in academics and other subjects while maintaining a global perspective.
To achieve these objectives, we provide resources and healthy environment for the tender saplings to grow into trees. We attempt to teach our children how to excel in today's competitive environment without sacrificing morals or discipline. We think that a true education should prepare students for a lifelong learning process.
My sincere advice to all the students that they have to work hard to face the global competition to survive. I request that teachers retain a team spirit and continue to work hard to provide the greatest education possible to their children in order to transform them into noble citizens of India. At SVCS, we aim to provide a learner-centric education for the children so that they can shape their personality to transform the world to a better place to live in. We believe that every child is special and has talent to enlighten uncountable hearts through the light of knowledge. In the era of rising academic standards, the schools are responsible fo showing the right dimension to develop and inculcate right attitudes in students along with concerned parents. Being loving teachers and caring parents sometimes we assume that we would be able to solve all problems of our children. But to be honest, life is not merely a problem to be solved but reality to be experienced with the help of life skills.
The management of the school and the staff members are dedicated towards ensuring that the curriculum, teaching learning methods and infrastructure are at pace with the updated education system.
